Policy Work
Universal access to contraception and reproductive technologies is a must for a society where everyone can thrive. It ensures equity, so that all citizens can carry out their reproductive life plan with confidence.
On July 27, 2023, Dr. Rupinder Toor, with Project EmpowHer filed a petition with the Government of Canada, and successfully advocated for universal access to contraception. As a result, this policy was included in the 2024 Federal Budget, and currently citizens in British Columbia, Manitoba, PEI and Yukon now can access prescription contraception at no cost.
Advocacy for this policy in Alberta will continue. Reach out if you would like to help!
